This page describes how the site is managed with regard to the processing of personal data of users who consult it.
This information is provided pursuant to art. 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (‘GDPR’) and the national legislation in force, to those who interact with the web services of STAR AUTOMATION EUROPE SPA, accessible by electronic means from the address: www.star-europe.com corresponding to the home page of the official STAR AUTOMATION EUROPE SPA website.
This information is provided only for the STAR AUTOMATION EUROPE SPA website and its sub-domains, and not for other external websites consulted by the user using any links present on the site.

Type of data processed, purpose and legal basis for processing
Navigation data
The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
This is information that is not collected in order to be associated with identified interested parties, but which by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.
This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users connecting to the site, the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user's operating system and IT environment.
This data is used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check its correct operation, and is deleted after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical computer crimes to the detriment of the site.
Data provided voluntarily by the user
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of electronic mail to the addresses indicated on this site, including through the completion of specific forms, entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, which is necessary in order to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

Nature of conferment
Apart from that specified for navigation data, the conferment of data by the User is voluntary. Failure to provide data may make it impossible for STAR AUTOMATION EUROPE SPA to provide the services requested.

Communication of data
Without prejudice to communication and dissemination carried out in execution of legal obligations, all data collected and processed may be communicated to:
- Subjects to whom it is necessary to communicate the data for the performance of a contract to which the Data Subject is party or for the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the same, as well as, in general, for the pursuit of the purposes mentioned in this notice;
- Subjects who carry out processing on behalf of the Data Controller as Data Processors pursuant to Article 28 GDPR, such as, purely by way of example and without limitation: subjects who provide services for the management of the information system and telecommunications networks (including e-mail). The complete and updated list of the Data Processors is available, to those entitled to it, by simple request at the Data Controller's head office;
- Persons authorised to access the data by the legislation in force and/or to whom the data must be communicated in order to comply with legal obligations.
Personal data may be processed by employees and collaborators assigned to the competent offices of the undersigned, who are explicitly authorised to process them on the basis of the provisions of Article 29 of the GDPR and current national legislation.
Data transfers abroad
Data are not transferred outside the European Union; any use of technological solutions involving the transfer of data to non-European third countries may only take place in compliance with Art. 44 ff. GDPR (in the presence of adequacy decisions and/or adequate safeguards always on condition that the data subjects have enforceable rights and effective remedies, or on condition that one of the specific exceptions provided for by the legislation is applicable from time to time).
Data retention periods:
Data shall be retained for a period of time not exceeding the achievement of the purposes set out in this policy. In particular, the data provided will be kept in our archives according to the following parameters:
- Data provided voluntarily by the user: until the service is provided or according to any deadlines stipulated by law;
- Data processed for sending the newsletter: 24 months;
- Data processed for information, promotional and commercial purposes: 24 months.
In relation to the specific limitation periods provided for by law, data necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of a right in court may be subject to longer storage periods.
Checks on the obsolescence of retained data in relation to the purposes for which they were collected are carried out periodically.
Rights of the data subject
The data subject has the right to obtain, in the cases provided for, access to his or her personal data and the rectification or erasure of such data or the restriction of processing concerning him or her, or to object to processing (Art. 15 et seq. of the GDPR), by contacting the Data Controller at the following e-mail address: privacy@star-europe.com.
Right of Complaint
A Data Subject who believes that personal data processing is taking place in breach of the provisions of GDPR 2016/679 has the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of the EU State where he or she normally resides, works, or of the place where the alleged breach occurred, as provided for in Article 77 GDPR 2016/679, or to take appropriate legal action.
